SAMI 2017

The 2017 summer course, originally known as MISSME (Management of Indonesian Small Medium Enterprise), was held from August 6 to 17, 2017, and marked the beginning of what is now known as the SAMI program.

Organized by the Department of Management, IPB University, the program brought together students and experts from across the globe to explore innovation systems in Indonesia’s agrifood sector. Activities included interactive lectures, cultural exchange, and insightful field trips to local farms, food production sites, and agribusinesses.

Participants gained firsthand experience with Indonesia’s sustainable practices in agriculture and food systems through multidisciplinary learning, case discussions, and exposure to real-world agrifood management strategies. The program also fostered international collaboration and networks, laying the foundation for future summer courses under the SAMI banner.
