Bogor lies in the province of West Java, Indonesia, which is a silent witness to the history of Tarumanegara, the oldest recorded kingdom in Western Java, on 5th century. Its location which is near the Capital of Indonesia-Jakarta make it a strategic region for economy growth and development. Bogor is also known as “Buitenzorg” in the Dutch colonial era which means “no worries” or “safe and sound”. Since 19th century, Bogor is known as the central agency and research for agricultural and biological. One of them is Bogor Agricultural University which is now called IPB University. In 2016, Bogor has been chosen as the most loveable city in the WWF’s global “We Love Cities” campaign

There are many tourist attractions available in Bogor ranging from nature to historic sights that can be visited, such as Bogor Botanical Garden, a tourism spot which has 1500 species of trees and plants. There is also Bogor Palace, one of the presidential place in Indonesia with deer surrounding the palace.

Bogor is also famous for its unique culinary, such as Asinan Bogor (pickled vegetable dish), Togr Goreng (a dish of lontong, egg noodles, friend tofu, and boiled bean sprouts with peanut sauce topping), Bolu Talas (Taro Cake) and many others. Some of places that become culinary center of Bogor are Taman Kencana, and Surya Kencana.
